There was a time not long ago when East Coast skaters dreamed of moving West to California for either temporary or permanent residence to beat the cold and to be in the heart of the skate world. Now, it seems, the best getaway may be Portland, Oregon. Today’s Wall Street Journal online has a feature story on Portland’s grand design to have a ‘skatepark system’ which, by the time it’s completed in 2020, will include 19 parks throughout the city. | |
