Black Label, Adio Footwear, and Surfride skate shop put together a little
BBQ on Sunday September 20th to celebrate Chris Troy going pro! Burgers,
dogs, beers, and skateboarding was on the menu for Chris, his friends, and

Both Jack Olson (street) and Clay Kreiner (vert) came out on top at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals,
held in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake
City last weekend. With their wins, they’ve each earned spots in the
Dew Tour’s PlayStation Pro in Orlando, Florida on October 15th-18th, to
compete against the pros. Remember, this is how Chaz Ortiz went from
flow to pro just two years ago. Congrats and good luck dudes!

IASC has posted an
online ballot for many of skateboarding’s legends and greats which will
be inducted to the first annual Skateboarding Hall of Fame at the IASC,
Go Skateboarding Foundation Fundraiser to be held October 24, 2009 at
the Vans Skatepark in Orange, CA. Cast your votes to nominate one
influential skateboarder from each decade right here.

Starting in the NorthEast, Eastern Boarder is running an event
called King of the Worm. What is King of the Worm? It’s a scavenger
hunt type contest in which you use your skate skills and city knowledge
to earn points for your team. The team with the most point’s (and video
proof) at the end of the week wins. It’s just like Thrasher’s King of
the Road except it’s in Worcester and you can actually do it. The Eastern Boarder Site has more on the rules.
New Jersey’s Garden SK8 is
hosting two days of amateur contests. All ages are welcome to compete
in the street, mini, and bowl contests. Bring your own food…and they’ll
grill it for you.

Conceived by DC, The Gold Standard 2009 is a hosted hotel takeover held
during the 2009 Summer X Games, developed as a tribute to DC’s X Games
athletes over the past 15 years. DC, along with event partners Monster
Energy, Codemasters’ DiRT 2, New Era and presenting media partners FUEL TV
and TransWorld Media will occupy all 12 floors of the swanky hotel in the
heart of Los Angeles.

The results are in
from the 3rd annual CPH PRO which took place at the Copenhagen
skatepark over the weekend. Rookie pro Torey Pudwill came up large in
the finals and held off veteran challenger Eric Koston for the decisive
win. T-Puds also took the top cash for Best Trick. The kid is definitely off to a good start in his paid career. Look for more photos and info from the event on the DVS skate site.

The finals of the contest is
always what I look forward to and this contest was no exception. Seeing
Torey and Koston go head to head in the jam session in the last heat of
the finals was awesome! In between puking Torey really laid down some amazing skating.
Some new rules apply as Battle of the Berrics 2 has officially begun today with this first match up between Mike Vallely and Chris Cole. Tomorrow Jamie Thomas faces off with Dennis Busenitz.
